21 Days to Make a Change

(This post was originally written April 29, 2021)

I'm being EXTREMELY open in this blog, because (1) it has been a while since I've written, and (2) I'm hoping that by putting this out there, it will motivate you too! Before you read, please know everyone has different journeys! We don't start in the same place, nor do we have the same goals. Never let someone else's status discourage you. Your story is about YOU and what YOU choose.

So, if you know me, before March 2020, I was going to the gym for 90 minutes a day, 5 days a week. I LOVED it! Our gym had a family room with a play area and TV for the kids. There was aerobic equipment as well as weights and machines. We ended up making some friends there and we had a blast. It was my motivation to get out the door every day. I felt AMAZING. Then the gym shut down. I couldn't buy weights anywhere. And frankly, I gave up and got a little depressed. I put on 15 pounds.

I KNOW. This is not horrible amount of weight. It’s not that bad. But it added up for me. It started with me giggling about my belly rolls at the pool. And then it really started to bother me… and THAT is when it was bad. Because it was affecting my mental health and my self-confidence.

My body likes to move. Even back to when I was younger, I may not have realized it, but sports kept me happy through some pretty miserable times. I remember back to being in college, depressed, and a teacher asked if I was working out. I wasn’t. I was too mentally exhausted. But I should have been. The routine and movement are good for me. He knew that, and now so do I.

So yesterday marked the start of 21 Day Fix for me. I did it before and loved the results. I love the 30-minute in-home workouts as well as the ease of the food “plan.” There are no recipes to follow, I just cook as usual for my family and then measure out using their containers! I use the app to keep track of my containers, weight, and daily workout. It’s really super simple!

I’m not a Beachbody rep, but if you’re looking for something to try, this is what I’m using: 21 Day Fix - DVD Bundle. As I said, I love the ease of just measuring out the food and how the videos are 30 minutes or less.

What I want you to take away from this post is: if you are unhappy where you’re at, please don’t sit on it for a year. There are options out there! And if you feel inspired by this story, I encourage you to act!

I’ll be talking about this program off and on at my Instagram @MyLivingRenewed. Come join me over there!

And if you haven’t joined our community yet, come check us out at Gracefully-Imperfect Crunchy Mamas!

Blessings!
